You are bidding on an 8 x 10 black and white photograph of HMS Centurion, the lead ship of a class of 2, pre dreadnought battleships, which served in the Royal Navy from 1894 to 1909.

Centurion, was laid down, at the venerable Portsmouth Royal Dockyard on March 30, 1890. She was launched on August 3, 1892, and commissioned into the Royal Navy on February 14, 1894.

After service in the China Station, she was paid off and scrapped, in 1910

.                           

Photograph one is circa 1897, and shows an overall waterline port bow view.

Photograph two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing the ships unofficial badge, general characteristics, a line drawing, trivia and the ensigns she proudly flew.

Item three is a photo quality short history of the Centurion, with a list of her Commanding Officers, a photograph, of her memorial, at Portsmouth, and a photograph of the then Captain John Jellicoe.
