You are bidding on a 8 x 10 black and white photographs of the USS Fletcher DD 445, ( ex DDE 445 ) the lead ship of the Fletcher Class destroyers , which served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1969.

The Fletcher was laid down on June 2, 1941, at the Federal Shipbuilding yards at Kearney, New Jersey. She was launched on May 3, 1942, and was commissioned into the United States Navy on June 30, 1942.

She served in World War II, Korea and the Vietnam War.   She was decommissioned in 1969, and was broken up in 1972.

The photograph is circa 1967 and shows an overall waterline port bow view.

Item two is an 8 x 10 colour statistics sheet showing the ships crest, general 1967 characteristics, visual and radio callsigns, trivia and the ensign she proudly flew.
