DESCRIPTION:
Offered is this really superb and very well-preserved Repogle black world glove produced between 1960 and 1969 for Encyclopedia Britannica. It features a choice, spectacular compound pivoting, ruled hanger and a raised hollow chrome pedestal base stand. The top lithographed black and white tin sundial is present and in great shape, as well as the lithographed paper surfaces of the black terrestrial world globe itself. Continents are featured, surrounded by a white and blue line border. Nations are described in different pastel colors that range from chiffon yellow to cantaloupe orange, to a yellow green, to a pale rose and to a violet blush. Typography is abundant and in stylized cursive, as well as high case and small case traditional font. The globe only suffers from some minor, nearly unnoticeable small abrasions and/or scuffs to its surface. It's devoid and free of significant punches, water damage, equatorial tape loss, dings or dents to its chrome pedestal base. A great classic look with terrific chrome assembly. Very sharp.

CONDITION:
Good to Very Good overall vintage condition. There's aside from some minor scuffs and slight abrasions to the black paper lithographed surface, which demonstrate the globe's honest, vintage pedigree, there's also a darker spot located on the country of Morocco. It's rusty in color and no attempt has been made to remove or to lesson it for fear of damaging the surrounding paper surfaces of the globe. The globe remains, aside from these small blemishes and imperfections, a terrific black Repogle for Encyclopedia Britannica world globe with a gorgeous, choice, pivoting and ruled chrome hanger on a raised chrome pedestal base. The chrome still shines and is very reflective and polished.
