Antique Hat Pin
Description and Notes:  "Sweetheart" hat pins were proudly worn in honor of the ladies' husband, father, son, brother, and beau who served in the military of various nations, especially during the time of war. The buttons were part or their uniform, and easily recognized by friends, relatives, military personnel, and neighbors.  It was a sensitive way to keep their loved ones close to them when their men were far away.
  • Antique/Vtg Button Sweetheart Hat Pin Anchor Roped Rim. Royal Navy. 
  • No crack, dents, or glue.  
  • The head (ornament) is in decent shape, solid connection. Stem is strong/straight, slight oxidation.
  • No hallmarks were observed.  
  • Overall, great condition.  Normal wear, aging. 
  • Date:  early 1900s.
  • Total Hat Pin Length:  6 3/8"    Head diameter:  almost 5/8"
