- This kit includes .STEP files and instructions on how to make the custom control knobs.
- This kit includes .SVG files (Inkscape) of the Silkscreens for the TOP and FRONT of the custom housing.
- The last picture in my listing is a rendering of the housing assembly that can be built with the .STEP files.
- I have also shown a picture of the last PAR-245 that I built over a decade ago. It's a little dusty, but still works just fine.
- There is also a sample of the BOM shown in my listing. It is VERY detailed.
I have spent hundreds of hours creating the documentation required to build a custom PAR-245. It was always my intention to build these units myself and sell them as completed units. To that end, I methodically reconstructed the Bill of Materials needed to make a REV 10 PAR-245. The PCB's that I am offering came from the bankruptcy auction of ADST/ORION/PPI. Trust me when I tell you that I am intimately familiar with this unit as I built many PAR's, including the PAR-225 during my tenure at PPI.
I worked at PPI for the better part of 2 decades and built many PPI Amplifiers and Signal Processors by hand so that Engineering could validate and verify a design prior to release to Manufacturing. I was one the Engineers responsible in the late 1990's for that validation process. This Revision 10 passed without issue. It was also the last PPI PAR-245 Revision to be sold to audiophiles. The 1998 list price for this unit was $599.
The PAR-245 was by far the most popular Signal Processor that PPI ever produced. It was also lauded by many as the best parametric equalizer made in this time period. It is still highly regarded and fetches a good prices when used units appear on Ebay. I would like to point out that all PPI Signal Processors were built in house here in Phoenix, AZ.
Now is your chance to build your own! Show off your mad knowledge and electronics skills!
