NORITAKE "BALBOA" SOUP COUPE Pattern number: 6123 (I have also included photos of the coupe and underplate, which can be used as a bread and butter plate, to show how attractive the coupe and underplate look together, however, the listing is for the coupe only) Up for purchase is this attractive and very vintage Noritake "Balboa" soup coupe. The coupe has platinum around the rim, outside centre, around the inside and at the base. There is also platinum along the handle edges and down the centre of the handles. The coupe is decorated with a floral type design with grey and white coloured floral pattern inside, around the top half of the coupe. The floral design which is in a group of 3 one side, a group of 2 on the other and a single design on another side, is situated in a pale blue band. You can actually feel the floral pattern. Coupe measurements: approximately 11.5cm across the rim and 5cm in height. |

The outside base of the coupe shows the following: "Noritake China, R, Japan, 6123, Balboa U.S. DESIGN PAT. PEND." The "Balboa" pattern was first produced in 1960 and continued until 1972. I CAN'T SEE ANY CHIPS, SCRATCHES, FADING OF COLOUR OR RIM WEAR ON THE COUPE. THERE IS THE ODD SPOT OF PLATINUM WEAR ON THE HANDLE, HOWEVER, OTHER THAN THIS FAULT, THE COUPE IS IN EXCELLENT, LIKE NEW CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. ALL IN ALL, THE COUPE IS IN EXCELLENT/LIKE NEW CONDITION AND WOULD LOOK VERY EFFECTIVE BEING USED WHEN GUESTS COME OVER FOR A MEAL. YOU COULD ADD IT TO THE BALBOA SET THAT YOU MAY ALREADY OWN. I have checked the item carefully and have done my best to describe any imperfections, scratches or chips. Please be aware that the item is old and is more than likely going to have a scratch here or there, but as mentioned before, the item is in excellent/like new condition.
