Early Antique Two Finger Shaker Pantry Box w/1860-1870's Pasted on Graphics
Great Little Shaker at 5.5" L x 4" W x 2.125" High, makes great display.
Solid little pantry box. Two finger wrap with primitive off round old nails and wood tack fastens. There is a minor ding to lid (can be seen in gallery picture #8), but box is otherwise very nice with great natural patina.
Someone pasted some 1800's era newspaper or other print images to box which add some charm, but the images are missing some pieces. There are some animal, architecture, people, and other, but the patina is so heavy it is hard to make them all out. Kind of a neat eagle on the top but it is well worn as seen. We found a nearly exact size and style Shaker box that sold for $375 a while back on eBay. It literally looked like the same maker, just minus the paste on's. We are pricing far below that.
The box has heavy patina, but no odors. More like from being in a kitchen than in smoke. Please look over all pictures taken for your consideration. Best guess on age would be mid 1800's and almost certainly pre 1890.
