A needle holder, also called needle driver, is an instrument similar to a hemostat, used by doctors and surgeons to hold a suturing needle for closing wounds during suturing and surgical procedures. 

These tools are ratcheted, finger ring instruments that also has built-in scissors. 

These are used with intermediate weight sutures, commonly in plastic surgery procedures. 

The parts of a simple needle holder are the jaws, the joint and the handles.

Jaws are custom crafted with very fine teeth appropriate to the size of the instrument and the sizes of needles and sutures.

The offset ratchet design provides ease of use for grip and suturing techniques, which is also suitable for left-handed users.
