FOR SALE

AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY
COPPER PLATE MAP OF IRELAND.

The copper plate engraving of Ireland, with original hand colour, is from the Encyclopaedia Londinensis, or, Universal Dictionary of Arts, Sciences, and Literature which was embellished by a most magnificent set of copper-plate engravings.

The map was engraved by Samuel Neele in the early part of the 19th century and published by J. Wilkes,

Below the map and title, 'Published as the Act Directs. Jan'y 1 1811 by J. Wilkes'.

The engraving is in good condition, unmounted with an approximate sheet size; 27 x 21 centimetres and the size of the plate of the map 23.5 x 19 cm, which will afford the opportunity to mount and frame the engraving with a good margin.

I shall leave the images to complete my description and welcome all questions.
