Civil War And World War II Commemorative Crazy Quilt. This quilt is full of history. It contains the Grand Army of the Republic badge of Patrick Henry Kelly of Spencer Mass who, in 1861, enlisted the Massachusetts Volunteers Company K 10th Regiment and served until 1863. It also contains a WW2 era lace handkerchief sent home from a family serviceman stationed at the Wheeler air base in Hawaii (Wheeler Army Airfield) - the handkerchief reads " Sweetheart Aloha Hawaii". The quilt also contains vintage military uniform buttons and vintage Red Cross pin sewn in. The quilt was made by Mary Madden of Spencer Mass - a well-known, award-winning quilt maker - to commemorate family members who served in the Civil War and World War Two. 64" x 66".
