Great Western Railway War Service Badge (First World War Reproduction). Condition is "New". Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class Large Letter, with free postage.

These badges were originally produced by the GWR between 1914 and 1916 to show their employees were engaged in vital work for the nation and were not to be seen as 'shirking their duty' by not being in military uniform. This modern reproduction has been produced as a tribute to both that generation of Railwaymen and Women and their descendants who have kept the country moving throughout the Covid pandemic and lockdowns.

Original examples retail for approximately £150 each when available. Please note that these reproduction badges have a modern butterfly fixing to the rear. This badge has a diameter of 25mm and is made from hand-finished, gold plated hard enamel. I have numerous other railway badges available, and am always happy to offer discounts for combined orders. Please check out my other items or message me for further details if required.
