The lady symbolizing the French Republic, the eyes covered, tries to touch and select the future President amongst the players: to the left: Ledru-Rollin, Cavaignac and Louis-Napoleon, behind whom are standing a workman, a soldier of the National Guard and a grouch. to the right dr. Lamartine pushed by a clergyman and by the Count de Chambord and Thiers, pushed by the Prince of Joinville and the small Count of Paris, riding a rooster. In the bucket of the "Curieux, Ballon monstre, 1848" (Curious monstreous balloon, 1848), Louis-Philippe observes the scene throug binocular. Printed by Imp. Plista. Condition: Very good, given age. Four pinholes in the corners, from hanging. Margin cropped close to image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
