This auction is for a rare, early opera handbill of the Richard Wagner opera Lohengrin.

This handbill is an advertisement for the opera appearing at the Royal Court Theater in Dresden Germany in 1903.

The handbill was stored in a musical score book along with a number of clippings and other inclusions.

The condition is in rough condition. It has a handwritten note pasted on it that references the opera but I’m not certain what language.

It also has a portion of an envelope pasted in with a 5 Pfennig Deutsches Reich stamp postmarked from Dresden.

Handbills of early Wagner operas are difficult to find so even in this condition, the piece appears to be quite rare.

The handbill will be carefully shipped to you flat.

Please reference the photos for actual quality and contact me with questions or request additional photos.

I also have another Lohengrin handbill from 1896 in much better condition as well as a Gotterdammerung Handbill from 1897 listed so please check my other auctions.
