heads hinge at back of neck to open.

I've seen other sets that open at the feet or the top of hat comes off...so i think they are handmade since the designs are each unique and the faces and clothes are different

there are markings on the feet with a crown or basket symbol also 800 on boy and 13 on girl

i have not polished away the patina since it might be that you want it but i have seen them fully polished and they look good that way ,too
