This famous painting was completed about 1899. It shows George becoming the first President of the United States in Federal Hall on Wall Street, New York City in 1789. This is the 8-inch by 10-inch (8x10) size. Prints are also available in Other sizes. (See "Other sizes are available" below.) The painting is not the same proportions as some of today's standard display devices, so we have added a caption in the extra space below the image. The caption can be hidden if you mat the print. The caption reads, "George Washington takes the Oath of Office, New York, April 30, 1789." Please see our large selection of other early photos and art. You will receive an 8x10 print that will ship the next business day after you pay. This improved print was made for you new. For best color and clarity it will be made in a photo lab. We took great care to preserve the sharpness and old look while removing scratches, spots, and other damage that would make it less viewable. We repaired imperfections and improved tonal values.

Finish:  Your print has a luster finish to resemble the actual painting.

Border:  Your print has minimum borders. This means that there may be some white edges (less than 1/4 inch wide) outside the dark margins so that you can display the maximum amount of the image in a typical device that hides the edges of the print.   

Quality:  We select the highest-quality images we can find and carefully restore and improve them. This image does not meet the highest standards for art prints because it was not photographed recently. But we restored and improved it as much as possible and processed the print using modern archival methods and it will last for many years.

Packaging:  We ship 8x10 prints flat with a stiff board to prevent folding, in a sturdy envelope.

Shipping time:  Your print will ship the next business day after we receive your payment. If you purchase additional eBay items from quaintcards to ship together, an extra day or two may also be required. The time required by the postal services to deliver your package depends on shipping method, Customs requirements, weather, holidays, and other factors beyond our control.

Shipping cost:  This item is sold with packaging materials and handling included in the price. Domestic postage is also included. For destinations outside the U.S.A., buyer pays actual postage.
