Please feel free to make me an offer.

An Lovely Antique Oak Boxed Coin Balance or Scale. Petite & very tactile.

Approx just under 5" long by just over 2 1/4" wide by just over 1" tall.

I believe they're quite early around the 1700s but please do your own research. The balance itself is quite fine & made of steel. The needle pointer is also present & in good condition as quite often these are damaged.

In expected used but good condition for an item of this age. The silk threads that would have attached the 2 brass pans to the balance have been lost in history. They sometimes have a silk tassel to hold them from which isn't present. The 3 wire loops are all still present.

The oak hardwood box has been cleaned by someone & is lovely. It has a hand made hook latch & wire hinges.

Each side of where the pans sit have been hollowed out to allow round weights to be stored in one of the two side compartments.

The balance also looks handmade & quite early. The underside of the pans have been gently filed, I'm suspect they're also handman & may have been filed to calibrate the balance.

Please study the images as they also form part of the description & please do your own research.

All UK postage includes the extra cost of being signed for, for added peace of mind.

Positive feedback is always appreciated.
