Wargame British Maxim 1 Pounder ‘Pom Pom’ Naval Deck Gun on Pedestal with Shield (1/56) 28mm scale. Plastic resin cast. You will receive an unpainted kit that will require assembly, super glue is recommended. Figure not included and for scale purposes only. Height with shield is 32mm, without shield is 22mm. Please note the built model is for representation only and I had added a small rod between the trigger and arm on the pedestal, this is not included in the final kit.

This gun was an enlarged version of the Maxim 0.303-inch machine gun and first appeared in service around 1895. The value of this gun was quickly identified by many European navies and trials, cited in 1894, had been made or were to be made in England, France, Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain and Turkey. It was considered to be especially useful against attacks by the fast-moving torpedo boats that were appearing more and more on the naval scene.
