These badges were originally produced by the LBSCR between 1914 and 1916 to show their employees were engaged in vital work for the nation and were not to be seen as 'shirking their duty' by not being in military uniform. This modern reproduction has been produced as a tribute to both that generation of Railwaymen and Women and their descendants who have kept the country moving throughout the Covid pandemic and lockdowns.

Original examples are now highly sought by collectors. Please note that these reproduction badges have a modern butterfly fixing to the rear and can therefore not be confused with an original on close inspection.
