This is a black and red typewriter ribbon that will fit Royal Portable typewriters.  It comes with 2 plastic spools.  The ribbon is 1/2 inch wide.  The ribbon is 12 yds long. Centre hole is 4mm.  

Why buy a Nylon ribbon?

If you do a lot of typing, our nylon ribbons with medium inking are the best type of ribbon for you to use. Cotton ribbons and cheap plastic ribbon hold too much ink. If you’re using standard type styles, often the strike-heads of lower case letters like e-a-o-w-p-q will soon become so filled up with ink that the letter will be unrecognizable when it imprints on the page.
