This is a Czech double bass made by a maker/shop trading under the name of Herold Jaeger. (Label)
The back and sides are of high quality medium to high figure Luthier grade quarter sawn European Maple.
The top is quarter sawn Spruce. The neck is of high figure quartered European hard maple.
The finger board is first quality ebony properly hollowed and tuned
with no grooving from wear.
The finish is a nicely done medium thick spirit varnish,
light brown over a gold ground which was gone over with a French Polish in 1987.
Comes strung with new set of Flexocor solo strings.
