Product Description
Hoya 49mm HMC NDx400 Filter is a lightweight and durable filter which is perfect for photographing extremely bright subjects such as solar eclipses, industrial welding processes and other ultra-bright light sources. It reduces light values by 9 stops to less than 1/500th of its original intensity and allows safe photography. This filter features a three-layer HMC multi-coating, which provides 98-99% light transmission and helps to reduce internal flare and reflections. It is constructed from high-quality optical glass for notable image clarity and is set in a durable aluminum filter ring. It can also be used to achieve super slow shutter speeds in daylight to render moving subjects invisible. These popular filters are renowned for their ability to minimize reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting. The optical 2.7 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
