Very cold hardy, perennial with huge flowers up 6-8 inches across in pink or white. Blooms continuously from mid to late summer. Each flower lasts only a day or two but new flowers keep coming. Plants grow to 4-5 ft tall.
Grows best in full sun. Plant seeds about 8-10 weeks before spring. Plant into peat pots to reduce transplant shock.
Or plant seeds directly in the garden after the last killing frost in spring. Rose mallow benefits from rich soil amended with compost, manure, or other organic material.
