Great Eastern Railway Reproduction WW1 War Service Badge. Condition is "New". Dispatched with free postage via Royal Mail 1st Class Large Letter.

These badges were originally produced by the GER between 1914 and 1916 to show their employees were engaged in vital work for the nation and were not to be seen as 'shirking their duty' by not being in military uniform. This modern reproduction has been produced as a tribute to both that generation of Railwaymen and Women and their descendants who have kept the country moving throughout the Covid pandemic and lockdowns.

Original examples are now highly sought by collectors. Please note that these reproduction badges have a modern butterfly fixing to the rear and can therefore not be confused with an original on close inspection. This badge has a diameter of 25mm and is made from hand-finished, gold plated hard enamel. I have numerous other railway badges available, and am always happy to offer discounts for combined orders.
