Peter Martin Heldt (1875-1957) was the Engineering Editor of the American trade journal Automotive Industries. He wrote and published several related books, including Automotive Engines, High Speed Combustion Engines and The Automotive Chassis.

This fourth volume was a later addition to The Gasoline Automobile, identified by Heldt as covering "all those components of the car that might be grouped under the term 'fuel system'." Extremely scarce in the UK.

Cover: brown cloth, gilt lettering to spine. Decorative band blindstamped at top and bottom of front cover. Gently bumped at corners, tips exposed. Mild creasing at head and base of spine, small closed tear at base.

Contents: plain endpapers, front free endpaper lightly foxed at top right, otherwise clean. Ink signature to top left of front free endpaper. Pages intact, no foxing. Text bright, unmarked (no annotations, underlining, etc.). Figures throughout text (drawings, plans, photos, etc.) are clear and sharp. Contents page shown in accompanying photographs.
