UNCOMMON VINTAGE 1ST ½ 20TH C. “ALASKA” FIGURAL PORCELAIN POLAR BEAR GROUP MOTHER & 2 CUBS 5” x 3” on ice floe.  Unusual glaze:  glistening, not quite pearlized or opalescent, something like ice or snow.  Handpainted black eyes on all.  One cub, seated, has mouth open as if making sounds, other cub stands and leans against mother.  “ALASKA” inscribed with sharp tool on side of only flat surface.  Pottery collector here has displayed this for many years and hasn’t seen another just like it.  No chips, cracks, hairlines.
