In the 1950's and 60's the Toronto Star weekend editions included a novel insert (usually about 16pgs).
Many of these are by renowned authors are first printings of their works are pricey if you can find them.
In many cases, the Star published a complete novel IN ADVANCE of a book release, making it the true 'first printing', or at least the First Publication in any form.
Occasionally, the Toronto Star version of a novel has been found to be the only version in existence (never published in book form) making it considerably more valuable.
These novels are in scarce supply as many lined birdcages and lit fireplaces.
