Product Description

This is a typical plain Shirasaya samurai sword. The blade is made of 1060 carbon steel. The golden baked blade is more cool and can effectively prevent rust. The handle and the scabbard are made of rosewood, and other accessories such as the sheath mouth are ox horns, which can prevent the rosewood from cracking.
 
Shirasaya
A shirasaya, is a plain wooden Japanese sword consisting of a saya (scabbard) and tsuka (hilt), traditionally made of rosewood and used when a blade was not expected to see use for some time and needed to be stored. Such mountings are not intended for actual combat, as the lack of a tsuba (guard) and proper handle wrappings; as such they would likely never make their way onto a battlefield.
Most of the shirasaya swords sold today are purely decorative modern replicas. However, our swords have practical sharp blades.
