1939 Dodge Delivery Truck Die-Cast Metal Vehicle

For Dodge, 1939 was "The year of the truck." In addition to

introducing a completely redesigned truck line, Dodge also opened the world's largest exclusive truck factory. The modern new facility cost over six million dollars and was located in Warren, Michigan, the home of Dodge trucks today. The company's 1939 truck sales rebounded significantly from the low of 1938, gaining 42.8% in sales. Total production was 89,364. The same year, Dodge startled the industry by announcing a Dodge built Diesel engine for use in their heavy 2 1/2 and 3-ton models. With its classic styling and rugged engineering the 4-ton Airflow was the top of the 1939 truck line.
