DESCRIPTION:
This still quite nice Welcome Soap, Curtis Davis and Company, Boston Massachusetts, late 19th to early 20th century American antique wood box soap advertising crate, has a torn away front short sidewall affixed paper label but still fairly undiminished, clear red and black ink stamped sidewall graphic iconography. This is an early soap box and preceded the turn of the century. Welcome Soap was registered on Jan. 8, 1878, 22 years before the turn of the century, making this wood box soap crate, an especially early piece of American mercantile advertising. This Boston, Massachusetts antique artifact was from a time when Boston, MA and really all of New England, were leaders in manufacturing a variety of products consumed by the rest of the country, with Welcome Soap, produced in Boston, MA, being one of them. The box crate features all wood construction, nailed corners, a wood plank floor and fairly clear, graphic iconography in stylized typography. It was however, lightly lacquered at some previous juncture. Incredibly well-preserved. Still quite nice.

CONDITION:
Fair to Good overall antique condition.
