College doubleheader program for Dec 18 1943 matchup held at Madison Square Garden.

Printed in purple ink (for the "home team" the NYU Violets)  The cover depicts an old-style cigar store Indian, with "St John's" carved on the pedestal, being relieved of their tomahawk by a glamorous woman in stereotypical head band.  The St John's team was known as the "Redmen" at the time because of their red uniforms.  This devolved into cultural appropriation of Native American detail until 1993, when the team became the Red Storm.

And now you know.

NYU faced St Francis in the first game, and St John's (Brooklyn) vs University of Detroit in the second.

The 12 page program is in excellent condition, no marks, folds or tears.
