Based on the real life of Edith Warner, who ran a tearoom at Otowi Crossing, just below Los Alamos. The Woman at Otowi Crossing is the story of Helen Chalmer, a person in tune with her adopted environment and her neighbors in the nearby Indian pueblo and also a friend of the first atomic scientists. Hardcover with no jacket. Inscribed to J. Golden Taylor, considered the first Western editor and author/ editor of The Literature of the American West. Golden Taylor was also one of the Western Literature Association’s founders and presidents. Inscribed in black marker on FFEP and signed by Frank Waters, Salt Lake, Oct. 14, 1966. Book is Near Fine with minimal wear, sharp corners and clean text. Depite the missing jacket, this is a rare association between one of America's renowned editors and one of America's great Western writers.
