Description:
The wishbone is a central part of the chassis and guides the steering knuckle. The wishbone thus creates a defined connection between the wheel and the body.
The most common cause of defects on the wishbone are the rubber bearings, which become brittle and tear over time. As a result, the wishbone has more play without the desired damping. Correspondingly, you notice a defective rubber mount on the wishbone with reduced tracking accuracy, noise development on bumps (rumbling), poorer driving dynamics when cornering and one-sided high tire wear. A damaged wishbone can damage other chassis components, so it should be replaced immediately to prevent expensive repairs. In many cases it is cheaper to replace the entire wishbone instead of re-pressing in individual rubber bearings.
