Traditional Vintage Japanese Meisen Silk Kimono Authentic with great floral/leaf detail- stitched design is iridescent in detail. Peach/ivory lovely lining.

Condition is "Used" but excellent. Beautiful lining. Repeated traditional  leaf pattern in pinks and pale sage green/cream - see Photos. Gorgeous print.

Anya’s Attic Kimono Information

Did you know? - Women’s Kimono have holes under the arms. Men’s don’t traditionally. All the ones I stock have holes under the arms. - My Kimonos have been hung out carefully to help reduce any vintage smell- Kimonos should not be washed ( they should be taken to a specialist dry cleaners). They can be aired outdoors for freshness. It is best to hang up a kimono a few hours before you wear it to let any creases drop out. Make sure they are aired at least 4 times a year. - The Kimonos I sell are genuine – they are not tourist made items etc - They are all different lengths – traditionally they were shortened by hitching them up with a traditional wide Obi belt – whereas nowadays they are worn more as robes or as housecoats without belts. Older Kimono tend to be shorter and smaller. - Size-wise a kimono is really versatile! The mannequin I display the Kimono on is a 10-12 UK size – but the gowns usually comfortably fit 14-16. Sizing has been included in each listing so that you can check before purchasing. All sizes are approximate. - Obi (wide brocade, 15ft belts) are for sale separately in my shop. Traditionally they would have been worn in a contrasting fabric to the kimono. Kimono’s should be worn left over right - Most of the kimono I stock are in excellent condition. I hand pick them myself - The white stitching ( shitsuke) round the outer edges of a kimono can be removed prior to wearing ( these stitches are just traditionally put in to keep the edges flat whilst in storage) - I try my best to be honest with all listings. If there are ever any problems with an item just drop me a message and I will do my best to sort it out.
