Chacana is a Quechua term that means ladder or bridge-like object (in Aymara: pusi chakani 'the one with the four bridges') Andean cross or square cross. The chakana is a thousand-year-old aboriginal symbol of the indigenous peoples of the central Andes in the territories where the Inca culture developed so much The chakana is more than 4000 years old, according to the architect Carlos Milla. Today, the Aymara culture continues reproducing the graphic of the chakana in their fabrics. Likewise, the Aymara still preserve the lunar calendar of 13 months with 28 days each month, used by the ancestors, as can be seen in the chakana, the toad, the turtle and the llama are carved.
