- Characteristics: Deciduous, bushy and fully hardy Acer cultivar flaunting fresh green leaves with creamy variegation. Ideal as a feature plant or patio plant in large container.
- Growth and Spread: Ultimate height of up to 4m, maximum spread of around 1.5m.
- Care and Maintenance: Your Acer will thrive in moist but well-drained soil composed of Clay, Loam or Sand. Place in dappled shade – direct sunlight can scorch its leaves. In winter, shelter the plant from the harshest, frosty winds.
- Period of Interest: Beautifully variegated foliage in green and white, from spring to autumn. Insignificant flowering in spring.
Acer palmatum Butterfly is a fully hardy, low maintenance Japanese Maple cultivar with beautiful colouring. The leaves display a lovely green, interspersed with creamy variegation and often with pink-tinted margins.
Its eye-catching deciduous foliage makes the tree an ideal feature plant, and it can be grown in soil or in a large container – provided it’s well watered.
Due to its fairly compact size, the Acer will suit any size garden or patio, and prove to be an easy care choice for a patio tree with its minimal pruning needs.
