Stencil is a contemporary line of hand-crafted T-shirts with bold graphics, a unique look and feel, and are made in the USA.
Seeing a need for T-shirts that related to this worn vintage look, Stencil was created. Through many months of trial and error (mostly error), a technique was developed that created graphics without the use of traditional screen printing methods. Instead of applying the graphics with inks, dyes or other materials to the surface of the T-shirt, Stencil graphics are created by lifting color off, leaving the design area intact as the original color of the T-shirt. The result is a very unique look that is really not there (like “negative space”) and will not crack, peel or fade no matter how many times it is washed.
Stencil became an instant hit with boutiques across the country, shipping to over 400 stores within the first 2 years. Stencil was seen on American Idol, MTV, TV and Cable Shows, Music Videos and was a favorite with many celebrities.
