Very fine handwritten diary for 1872 in soft calf. Appears to be by a Reverend Brown, his wife Mary and John and Jack. Should be able to be traced as he wrote for many holiness and temperance periodicals etc., and the dates of submission etc. are noted in his diary. Some very interesting content with entries for nearly every day of 1872, including some laid in signatures in rear to add more room to write.

The largest part of his ministry seems to take place in Doylestown, OH, Western Star, Bigelow Chapel, Akron etc., and includes trips to Oberlin Bible School with accounts of visiting families who  want to come rise for Christ at evening meetings, preaching in Wadsworth, Johnson's corners, Reverend Goss, Rev'd McComb, Burbank etc. constant mention of a Brother Robbins who was in preaching (possibly J.C. Robbins, the noted holiness minister from Indiana and Wisconsin).
