This Dell 640m was a solid workhorse back in its day, i.e. 2006-2008.  It still has a lot of useful miles on it, especially if you switch to using Linux on it! The system boots 32-bit Windows 7 on its massive 80 GB hard drive (old-school Hitachi magnetic spinning media!). Memory has been upgraded to 4 GB. The screen backlight seems slightly dim and nonuniform when first started, but within one minute it seems fully bright and fine.  The display itself remains sharp and clean, except for a couple of blemishes (they don't look quite like dead pixels) under the plastic -- visible as two dark spots on the blue background in the last photo. Wifi works fine. The battery was replaced a few years ago, and is holds a charge. The following features are present, but were not tested (though they were working fine last time they were used many many years ago): USB ports, PS-2 mouse port, IEEE 1394 (firewire) port, microphone and headphone ports, sdcard slot, VGA port, RJ45 ethernet port, modem port, DVDROM drive, PCI slot.

IMPORTANT: the mouse pad itself works fine, but NEITHER OF THE TWO MOUSEPAD BUTTONS WORKS.  the two buttons are in very good shape (the left one was replaced a few years ago) but something came loose beneath the buttons. It is still possible to simulate a left-click by tapping or tap-dragging on the mousepad, and of course it is possible to use an external mouse.

Power supply is included, but no other accessories or original packaging or documentation.

Unfortunately, the size and weight of this laptop makes it a bit expensive to ship! Shipping only to addresses within CONUS.
