The history of the physical education of children. Methods, techniques. The author is a well-known Moscow pediatrician and teacher of the late 19th century. The greatest fame is enjoyed by his books: "Physical education of children from different nations, mainly Russia" (1890), "Children's games in connection with history, ethnography, pedagogy and hygiene" (1895). He was also the editor of the journal `Bulletin of education`.

История физического воспитания детей. Методы, приемы. Автор - известный московский врач-педиатр и педагог конца XIX века. Наибольшей славой пользуются его книги: `Физическое воспитание детей у разных народов, преимущественно России` (1890), `Детские игры в связи с историей, этнографией, педагогией и гигиеной` (1895). Был также редактором журнала `Вестник воспитания`.

Покровский, Е.А. (1838—1895) — известный московский врач-педиатр и педагог. По окончании в 1860 г. курса медиц. фак. Моск. унив., занялся специально детскими болезнями и поступил ординатором в Софийскую детскую больницу в Москве. В 1870 г. — доктор медицины за диссертацию "Об источнике новообразования соединительной ткани при вырастании просвета кровеносных сосудов". Затем П. уехал за границу, где подробно изучил устройство детских больниц в Берлине, Вене, Париже и др. городах. По возвращении оттуда в 1882 г. назначен главным врачом Софийской больницы, которую преобразовал совершенно. П. напечатал ряд статей: "Уход за кожей детей", "Первая пища русского ребенка", "Купание и крещение ребенка в холодной воде", "Кормление грудных детей" и др. Наибольшей и вполне заслуженной славой пользуются его книги "Физическое воспитание детей у разных народов, преимущественно России" (1890), "Детские игры в связи с историей, этнографией, педагогией и гигиеной" (2-е изд., 1895). П. был также редактором журнала "Вестник воспитания"
