Rare antique 19th-century Belgian hand-blown emerald green glass ribbed melon, pumpkin, or bell jar lantern in its original form, as these are often made into electric lamps and sold for no less than 2500.00 dollars. As the old saying goes it's only original once! Here your chance to save big.

This circa 1890 heirloom is in very good condition and has its original smoke lid and copper details, including a "dragon" finial (see images) that adds unique character to the lantern, allowing the chain to be placed at any length.

An acid-etched indicia with the name of the manufacturer, Val St. Lambert, also reads "Best Crystal Glass" and "Made in Belgium."

Originally made for a candle, and still is, casting a beautiful colored light

The lantern includes a ready to hang from the toned brass ceiling canopy and chain provided.

Notice the bubbles in the glass and even some particles trapped on the glass from the ancient manufacturing process.

NOTE: A metal finial piece is missing and you can see the hand-cut glass tip of the dome

Dimensions: 29 5/8" Circumference
