This is a wood with brass trim Chinese abacus called a suanpan. This abacus measures approximately 18.5cm x 12.5cm, and has 9 rods. The rods, beads, and frame are wood. The rods each have 5 beads on the lower deck, and 2 on the upper, which would indicate that this is a somewhat old abacus, as modern suanpans typically are 4+1.    
   
This abacus comes as shown in the pictures; all by itself with no box or anything else. There are no identifying marks anywhere on this one. As the close ups show, there are light scuffs and other wear on the brass trim from age and normal usage over the years. See pictures for details.
