What is individually banded?
- It means every band in the fabric was individually sewn.
Bandage dresses in recent years are faux banded where the banding is part of the piece of fabric and cost a lot less to produce.
Individually banded pieces provides a firmer hold and lift, hence is considered to be superior.
Individually banded pieces takes longer and cost more to produce, so there are very few pieces in circulation since very few pieces were produced initially.
Please note that this piece was manufactured pre-2011, therefore:
1. the main purple tag will have 5 borders (dresses with main tag with 3 borders were post-2011 production)
2. will not have the back tag to be removed prior to wear (back tags were also introduced to post-2011 production dresses)
