Post Civil War Era of the 1860's, Leather over wood Custom Masonic suitcase by M.C. Lilley & Co. Columbus Ohio. Stands 11" high, 18" x 11". Masonic Suitcase belonging to Frank W. Mann Piedmont, Winston, N.C., Cross with a crown and 6 (picture) The outside has brass tacking along the rims and a design on the leather (pictures) The leather handle is intact.  The brass lock is marked "April 1877" NO KEY, the lock is open and does NOT shut. There is a brass plaque above the lock that reads "M.C. Lilley & Co, Military & Society Goods Columbus Ohio"  The metal hinges are marked "April 10, 1866". The 2 straps are broken off, one buckle remains. The wood interior reveals 2 levels.  The top level has 2 elastic fasteners, they are effective but one leather pull has broken off (picture) The bottom level has cracking in the wood and black ink markings.(picture 12,13) The outside leather has staining, scuffing and cracking, (see pictures) but remains strong. The Included FEZ made but Wolf Brown, Inc. Los Angeles is in great condition, the interior maker label is intact.
