Up for sale and long-overlooked by 3,525 arty Ebayers is our gorgeous oil on canvas painting depicting the same poppy fields, buildings, hills and rural view that Monet himself once painted. It is a mystery painting in that the signature lower right might be dated 1917, 1947 or even 1997 and with initials as per the photos. This could have been a painting exercise done by a serious impressionist art student and who sought the very spot that Monet once stood and painted many years ago... It is lovely hanging in position on the wall emitting great calm typical of the feelings of inebriation when out in the countryside. The painting is in good vintage condition and would benefit from a proper professional clean to get its dust off and to replace the terrible wooden frame which does the painting no justice at all. Two slight dent marks upper right where painting was stored against an object but which did not penetrate the actual canvas to spoil it. Giverny is a town near the River Seine near Paris and is now a Mecca for people wanting to know more about the Impressionist painters of the last century with a special museum to visit for research purposes. Measurements approximately: 24.25" x 28.50" or 61.5 cms x 73 cms. This really would look stunning with the correct frame added. (As at 3 January 2021, this painting has had over 3,525 page views and not one Ebayer desires it for their art collection!)
