Frankincense is an aromatic resin derived from the sap of trees in the Boswellia family. The sap naturally exudes from the bark and hardens into clear yellow teardrop shaped lumps and is then harvested.
Burning Frankincense has long thought to have the benefits of balancing the mind and body, reducing stress, assisting in meditation and may help to relive anxiety and depression. When burnt, the resin emits a fragrant aroma and the fragrance produced by burning resin on charcoal disks is quite unique and amazingly evocative.
