This lens has served me well for many years, with regular use and excellent image quality (I'm selling it due to an upgrade). It is optically sound and communicates perfectly well with the camera body. The zoom rubber band has some slack, and there's very slight lens fungus in the middle, and a tiny 3mm scratch at the edge of the front lens, but it doesn't seem to have any impact on the image quality that I can see. The front plastic ring rattles a bit, but again, this doesn't seem to affect the lens' performance.
