This sale is for two very well and intricately carved small wooden boxes, one for stamps and the other a trinket box. The two pieces are described in more detail below:

Box One: A characterful antique Swiss carved wooden quadruple stamp box, marked Luzern (or Lucerne).This little box is in very good condition for its age, with no detectable chips or cracks. This item would be ideal for use on a desk. It is more unusual in that it has spaces within for four varieties of small standard sized stamps.The top of the box is carved with a raised image of an Edelweiss flower and two buckled bands. Three sides of the box also have carved detail. It has a hinged lid.

The box measures about 5.25 inches (13.3 cm) in length by 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) in width.

Box Two: This lovely box has inward carved leaves at the front the two shorter sides, more carving on the reverse. The lid has a lot of carved detail, a central raised flower and an inward carved leaf freize. The interior is one single compartment. The lid is hinged. It stands upon four small wooden feet. There are some chips to the feet and a broken petal to the central flower on the lid.

The dimensions of this box are - length about 3.75 inches (9.8 cm), width about 2.5 inches (6.3 cm), height about 1.5 inches (3.7 cm).
