Description:
Jaime Hernandez: The 2000-P Massachusetts State Quarter is the sixth different design issued in the States Quarter Program. The coins were first released on January 03, 2000.
Obverse: The obverse design features the same George Washington motif used since 1932, it's just a slightly modified modern rendition.
Reverse: The reverse depicts "The Minuteman" standing in front of the state of Massachusetts outline. The Minutemen was the nomenclature given to the revolutionary farmers and colonists who assembled to fight at a minutes’ notice, if they were called upon.
The reverse design was chosen from 100 different designs submitted by Massachusetts elementary students. This is definitely a great design choice.
