The Impulse automatically sends the images it captures to your smartphone or tablet via the mobile app, or to its website. You can view, sort, and manage images remotely, and even use the Live Capture feature to see what's happening in front of the lens at any time.
The Impulse takes 20MP photos and 1080p video with sound, and transmits them using a no-contract Verizon data plan, starting at $9.99 per month. The camera's trigger speed is a fast 0.2 seconds and its invisible infrared flash has a 100-foot range. It can shoot still images as quickly as one per second, and your still images will have a time stamp with useful information including wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, temperature and more.
In addition to the app and website, images and videos can be saved on a user-supplied SD memory card up to 32GB. Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity allows you to manage the camera remotely from as far as 150' away. Built-in GPS kicks in if the camera is moved, shutting down all functions except its location signal as a security measure. The camera will run up to six months on a fresh set of 12 AA lithium batteries, and is solar panel compatible.
