This is a very easy install that can be done in about 15 minutes but it is recommended that this adapter and conversion be completed by a licensed plumber or certified propane technician.
1. Remove old hose and Weber regulator from the grill.
2. Wrap threads on the male end of this adapter with gas rated teflon tape (male end will come with pre-installed tape, this step can be ignored unless tape becomes damaged). Do not use teflon tape on the female end.
3. Install this adapter where the old regulator was removed from.
4. Install new hose with low pressure tank side regulator (sold separately) to the adapter. Can be found at any hardware store in the bbq area.
5. Connect regulator to any standard full size propane tank, ie, 10lb, 20lb, 30lb, 40lb. Note, 1lb throw away bottles will not fit on your new regulator.
6. Slowly open propane tank valve.
7. Test for leaks with a spray bottle filled with water an a tiny bit of dish soap by spraying all connections when under pressure. If you see bubbles forming at any connection, redo the connection before lighting the grill.
